What can you expect from a newborn photoshoot with katie rain photography?
Newborn sessions are photographed in your home, using the spaces and light that already surround your family. I don’t bring props or overly pose your baby. Instead, I focus on natural moments, gentle guidance, and letting your baby lead the pace.
The session is relaxed and unhurried, with plenty of time for feeding and diaper changes. It’s normal to wonder afterward if we captured enough, we always do. Some of the most meaningful images come from the quiet, in-between moments you don’t even realize are happening.
Siblings, pets, and grandparents are welcome to join in the photos!
Afterward, you’ll receive a curated online gallery where you can download your images and order prints or products with ease.

When should we book our photoshoot?
The sooner, the better. I take a limited number of sessions each month to ensure a thoughtful, unhurried experience for every family. That said, I always do my best to accommodate everyone when possible, and last minute openings do occasionally pop up due to schedule changes or cancellations. If you have your heart set on a specific timeframe, especially during the fall months of September through November when weekends tend to book well in advance, I recommend reaching out early to secure your spot.
What is the best timing for newborn photos?
Most families choose to schedule newborn photos within the first 10 days to one month after birth. Because my style is very relaxed and natural, there’s no strict timeframe you need to meet. Some parents prefer to give themselves a little more time after birth to rest and recover, and that’s completely fine too. We’ll choose a timing that feels right for you and your baby, and still results in beautiful, meaningful images.
What if the baby is born early or late?
I always leave room in my schedule to adjust newborn photoshoots. If the baby is more premature, I like to suggest we wait until at least their due date. The timing of the photos is ultimately up to you, but rest assured that I will always accommodate you.

03. Photoshoot day!
Your password protected gallery will be sent to your email inbox 2 weeks after our session. You will also receive a slideshow in your text messages, which is a great way to share your photos with friends and family.
04. Gallery delivery
Please print your photos and get them off your phones! There is a very convenient full online store attached to your gallery, which means ordering prints and products is easier than ever! Please inquire for custom albums and help with ordering. Enjoy your photos!

Will I receive the images?
I require a deposit when you book your session. That deposit will hold your date on my calendar and will be applied to your total balance due.
How can we secure our date?
I leave plenty of time to feed and change diapers. My sessions are more lifestyle based, so I have found that wrapping up the baby and snuggling always calms them down!
What happens if the baby is fussy?
I do! I offer a discounted rate for repeat clients and any new client who has been referred by a friend.
